Description
The Jewish people have been celebrating the Festival of Purim since the time of Xerxes, king of Persia, when the king’s prime minister Haman devised an evil plot to destroy all the Jews in the kingdom. God, however, had other plans. He positioned a young Jewish girl named Esther as the queen of Persia “for such a time as this,” and through her faith and bravery he secured the safety of her people. Now, each year, the Jewish people celebrate God’s victory.
