Jesus and the Torah

"Do not think that I have come to destroy the Torah" (Matthew 5:17).

Christianity has long debated the relationship between Jesus and the Torah (the Five Books of Moses). Did Jesus repeal the Torah and its laws and replace them with nothing more than love and grace, or did he maintain continuity with the Torah by keeping its commandments in his own life and enjoining their observance on his disciples and all believers? The answers are clear when the words of Jesus are accepted for what he said and in the light of what he did.
