High Holy Days

"You are to proclaim these appointed festivals of the Lord" (Leviticus 23:2).

The High Holy Days of biblical faith were created by God and enjoined upon his people Israel in Leviticus 23. These days include Yom Teruah (the Festival of Trumpets), also known as Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish civil new year), Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), and Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles, or Ingathering). This time is first for introspection and repentance, atonement for sin, and celebration of the faithfulness of God to bless his Chosen People.
