The peace of Jerusalem is so important that God commands us to “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!” (Psalm 122:6). This may well be because the name Jerusalem in Hebrew means “foundation of peace.” Despite all the wars and conflicts that have been waged over Jerusalem, the city where God placed his name is still the foundation of world peace.
